The Sainsbury’s meal deal includes one main, one snack, and one drink from over 500 eligible products. The range covers sandwiches, wraps, salads, sushi, pasta pots, and more. Snacks include crisps, fruit, yoghurts, and protein bars. Drinks span soft drinks, smoothies, juices, water, and flavoured milk.

Sainsbury’s is known for having one of the widest sandwich selections, including a strong sushi lineup and seasonal specials that rotate throughout the year.

Nectar card benefits

The Sainsbury’s Nectar card is free to sign up for and earns points on every purchase. Nectar points can be redeemed in-store or with partners including Argos and eBay. While the meal deal price itself doesn’t change with a Nectar card, you’ll earn points on the £3.50 transaction and can access Nectar Prices on other items in the same shop.

How to maximise your saving

As with all meal deals, the trick is to pick items with the highest individual prices. Sainsbury’s stocks several premium smoothies and juices in the £2.50–£3.00 range, plus sushi packs that can individually cost over £3.50. Pairing these with a premium sandwich gives you the biggest gap between the deal price and what you’d pay separately.

Sainsbury’s vs other stores

At £3.50, Sainsbury’s is joint-cheapest with Co-op members. It’s cheaper than Tesco (£3.85 with Clubcard), Boots (£3.60 with Advantage Card), and significantly cheaper than Greggs (£5.00) or Pret (£6–£7). The range is one of the widest in the market, competing with Tesco for variety.
